Kirsty joined the WTD team in January 2023. Kirsty brings a wealth of experience to the team in retail, craft and process butchery.
Kirsty is based in the North of the country and is responsible for our Butchery cohorts in that region.

Joss Faulkner
Joss Faulkner (Managing Director) Joss started off as an ancillary worker in one of Europe’s largest abattoirs, he soon became a fully qualified operator, from where he was promoted within the business to become the company’s training manager, responsible for over 900 employee’s development. Joss left the business after 19 years and set up WTD Ltd in 2004. Joss has a huge wealth of experience and knowledge of the food industry and still today much prefers the hands on training approach taking lower skilled operators on a development journey to up skill them and maximise their potential.

Caroline Higginson
Caroline Higginson (Lead Functional Skills Trainer) - Caroline has been in the food industry for over 20 years, and was based in Saxbys as an operator progressing through the ranks to become a site trainer. Caroline joined WTD Ltd after the closure of the business and has been assessing learners in all parts of food manufacturing. Caroline is also responsible for learner’s Functional Skills provision - due to her vast production back ground, she specialises in relating the programmes and training material needed, into production language that learners and customers prefer and understand.

Laura Faulkner
Laura's background is in the finance industry, working for Nationwide Building Society for over ten years. Laura was managed a loan portfolio of over £20m for commercial customers. Laura left Nationwide to focus on her duties with WTD and is now responsible for the companies finances, HR and legislative requirements. As our ESFA and contracts compliance manager, Laura's organisational and attention to detail skills ensure that WTD is fully compliant with its regulatory requirements.
Laura is also our designated safeguarding and prevent officer.
