This organisation recognises that environmental concerns, social value, and the transition to Net Zero are becoming increasingly important in society. Businesses have both a legal and an ethical duty to ensure they operate in an environmentally sustainable, socially responsible, and economically viable manner.

The organisation is committed to enhancing its environmental performance by complying with relevant guidance and regulations, adopting modern methods of environmental management, and integrating social value and Net Zero considerations into its operations wherever practicable.

• Reduce its impact on the environment and work towards Net Zero carbon emissions.

• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulations, and social value obligations.

• Enhance the effectiveness of its environmental and social impact management

systems.

• Reduce its use of energy, resources, and carbon footprint.

• Minimise waste and encourage circular economy principles.

• Enhance social value by supporting local communities, creating job opportunities, and

improving social well-being.

• Promote responsible procurement, transport, and operational practices that align with

sustainability and Net Zero goals.

This policy should be read in conjunction with the organisation’s policies and procedures on waste management, carbon reduction, and corporate social responsibility.

Definition of Sustainable Development and Social Value

The organisation defines sustainable development as meeting the needs of the present

without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This includes effective environmental protection, responsible resource management, and economic viability.

Social Value refers to the additional social, economic, and environmental benefits that an

organisation can deliver through its operations, beyond the core services provided. This may include supporting local employment, education and training, improving community well-being, and contributing to broader sustainability objectives such as Net Zero.

• Measure and track its carbon footprint regularly.

• Implement energy-efficient solutions to reduce emissions.

• Transition to renewable energy sources where feasible.
